  • Timing Belt Light

Hello. I have a used 91 Surf. The timing belt was apparantly changed by the previous owner at 85,000km. I bought it a 98,000km and the instant the odometer rolled over 100,000km the Timing Belt Warning Light went on. Does anyone know how I can reset it so the light will turn off and leave me alone?

    Thanks a lot.

Remove the little rubber bung on the instrument cluster and press the switch
    behind it.

Pull out the small rubber plug from the front of the speedometer and use a toothpick or similar to press the reset button.

mmm when you say apparently changed doyou know for sure... most people who know about the surf would automatically press the reset button in after doing the belt so i hope you havent been fobbed off with the timing belt been changed routine... would be best to get it checked at least.
