  • can I fit a 3-point rear belt to a 2.4?

I spoke to Roughtrax and the chap said I need to check for the mountings for a rear 3-point interia reel (for a car-seat).

I've taken a photo of what's behind the trim - are these the seatbelt mounts? I've marked the photo with what I think are the correct holes.

    thanks

you can fit 3 point belts in the rear, I have an H reg 2.4 and have so far fitted one (looking for a second)
If you look behind the back seats there is a pop out square of plastic where the belt goes through the trim and just below it is the gap for the inertia reel behind the trim
From your photo I think your looking too close to the door but it may be right.
for the top mount there is what looks like a fat coat hook up against the ceiling behing the seats, this is basicly a blank to cover the top mount.
I think you will need proper surf belts because there is a bar that hangs down from the top mount to position the top bit in the right place
Try people breaking surfs on the forum for the right belts but if you get a passenger side one I want first option

      Hi Darren

      thanks for the info,

my Surf has had the interior in pieces for over a year now because I'm looking for a replacement sunroof, so I can't remember where the fat coat hook came off, although I'm certain I did have them to remove.

Would you be able to post a picture of the 3-point belt in your Surf, sort of a wide angle shot that shows the relative position of the upper mount compared to the seat back, so I can be sure to get it bolted into the right hole?

      thanks very much
      James

          Great, thanks very much!

I'll need to have another check behind the trim as the inertia reel is further back than I thought it was.
