  • Pully removal

    Ey'up
I have to get the crank out of my 2.4 td surf (2L-TE)
The block is upside down on the garage floor and I presume that I need to remove the front casting, so all the pullys need to come off ??
Firstly, is the camshaft pully bolt a standard thread (right hand) before I pursuade it off ?
Secondly, do the water pump bolts hold it together or can I leave it on ?

How's this for bad luck, whoever had the the sump off in the past used a silicone sealer and it squeese'd a 2 inch flat lump of sealer out. when I changed the oil the oil pick-up pipe picked it up and starved the engine of oil
motor's on the drive and the garage is full of bits that I most probably never remember where thay came from.

    Any help greatfully received

    Cheers Col
    All the best

All the pulleys are RH threads, I think the water pump bolts go right through the oil pump casing into the block, so it'll have to come off.
