cooling system cleaner

HI all Im gona flush and change coolant this weekend,read all threads on it but wondered if there was any addative to put in like you do in your central heating system to keep it all clean and fur free?Or could you use central heating inhibitor? Cheers Pep

I just flushed mine through with clean water. I used de-ionised water and anti-freeze mix to refill, because the water is extremely hard where I live. It has been OK for over three years..................... so far!

The ideal stuff to refill with is something like sikolene pro cool which is bacically de ironised distilled pure water with antifreeze and corrosion inhibiters. If you use pure distilled water with a fernox or sentinal additive (the 1 for ally, copper and cast boilers....cant remember the exact name/type) with a mix of antifreese then your sorted.
Better and probably works out cheaper to use propper stuff.
