Demister

Whenever i press the demister button in my 1993 Surf there is a clonking noise comming from somewhere under the dash, all other heating buttons work as they should.

Has anybody had this problem or have any ideas

is your aircon on? sometimes when you press heater direction buttons e.g windscreen or feet the flaps move and clunk

Thanks for the prompt reply, the aircon is not on , i have tried all sorts of different heater/ aircon combinations and if the demister button is pressed, no air comes out of the vents and a clonking sound comes from someway under the dash

does the fan not spin? your not talking about rear window demister are you

Its the front fan demister,not sure about the fan being on or not, all other heating functions work fine

if you put fan on full can you hear it

iff you can hear fan, one of the heating ducts may have become dislogded
