changing brake pads

what are the little silver bits on the brake pads for?

i can't see that they clip in anywhere?

only reaso i ask, is that i've just piut them all the wrong way round and wondered if it really matters?

i'll just swar them round... once i worked out how they came apart it was only a 5 minute job!

I think you are refering to the wear indicators, pads wear down, the metal bit touch the disc squeal like a pig, time to change the pads.

They go on the inboard side of the brake disc.
