you just need to press the 4wd button m8 then you are in hi box 4wd!!
to put it in to low box you will need to stop and drop it in!!

        Aussie locker

Although I haven't fitted it yet, I bought an "Aussie" locker for the front of my 83 hilux. These lockers are available for the indipendant front suspension models. The price is amazing, $238 I had one sent to me, it got through French customs without being notice! I paid €240 (about £175). Have a look atwww.offroadlockers.com. These are auto lockers, no air or cables. They garunte their product even with oversize tyres. A web search for aussie lockers will bring up tests. I'm equiping the front first as I feel it will get more traction, my L series un-turbo engine is much less a risk for the drive shafts than later engines!

When you press the button on the side of the lever the 4WD light should come up on the dash to show it has been selected. This is standard.

However, if your vehicle has had Manual Hubs fitted to the front wheels retrospectively, then 4WD will only happen when these have been moved from 'Free' to 'Lock', even if the dash light is on.

Correct if you have manual hubs. Do you?
