Speedo stopped working

As the title says, my speedo has stopped working.

Its a 1994 3.0 & I get nowt. Can anyone tell me how it works & what I should b looking 4? Is it likely 2 b a mechanical or electrical problem?

Well I cant say Ive had a massive response so far.....

Bit of an update tho - I noticed tonight that my passenger side indicators dont work too. None of them. When you put them on tho, the indicator on the dash works. Go figure?

Any help is good as Im not great with cars.

Well they're not linked to the speedo.

Yours will be an elecronic speedo, so it's either a sensor malfunction or the speedo itself is knackered. The sensor is on the side of the transmission towards the back. You''ll see the wires going to a plug, give the plug/socket a clean out switch contact spray is good.
