CAN ANYONE HELP ME OR SUGGEST SOMETHING TO DO WITH MY RATTLE.
I have just had my surf serviced and asked at the same time find and cure a rattle, unfortunalty they only serviced it and done f**k all about the rattle saying something like "its there somewhere !" .
So the rattle is either under the bonnet at the rear by the bulk head or behind the dash.It is noisier when i put the car in drive but fades slightly when driving also when idling it is there but also fades when revving .But it still there.Any suggestions would be welcomed.Ta

        Re

It is your lucky day my friend!

I had the same thing, was driving me NUTS!

What it turned out to be was the turbo cover/housing had came away and was rattling against the steering column.

Then, the bolt holding the turbo cover/housing to the engine block had gotten loose and the bracket was rattling and vibrating as well!

I suppose because it was hitting against the steering column it actually sounded as if it was behind the dash or bulkhead, this is why it took me ages to figure it!

Funny thing though, it rattled and droned going up and down the gears etc. at a certain point (about 900 RPM) and thing made it almost impossible to fathom with the bonnet up!

        Good Luck!

        Gary
