Oil Everywhere!

I was gigving the truck the once-over before the Avalanche Weekend and when I went underneath I found this. I only got as far as dipping the engine oil, which is OK, when the heavens opened. Going to check ATX and front diff in a minute or two.

better make sure it's all sorted for your holiday Phil else you'll be in for it from the misses

Phil , check the oil filter is tight , Jons used to work a bit loose on his 2.4 and he used to have to nip it up a bit once in a while .

Guess what? The oil filter was loose! (Cheers Rick) I managed to get a half-turn on it. The hose from the air filter to the turbo has a split in it too and is very oily inside. I have wound some self-amalgamating tape round it for now. Looks like I will be emailing a shopping list to the Toyota dealer.
