    For a 2nd Generation 3.0TD (KZN130) Manual:

AISIN Manual FW Hubs can be used. They can be taken from post 1998 Toyota Hilux with Independant Front Suspension (IFS). The hubs must accomodate 26 Splines.

Roughly how much are these BRAND NEW from Toyota? How much should I expect to pay for em from a Breakers? Can these be reconditioned/rebuilt easilty? Any UK links to reconditioners/ Parts sources?

    Thanks

Aisins are quite easy to rebuild and will last virtually forever! However they are expensive from Toyota and almost impossible to source in the UK, 2nd hand!
You may get lucky from a salvage yard which has the correct 26 spline aisins,
but I was not. Some others on this forum went for USA suppliers as they are more readily available 2nd hand!
I went for new AVM's and they are OK! (Milners)
Hope this is of some help.

      Neil,
Any idea how much Aisins are from toyota? or anywhere, Brand New? The toyota grease monkey wanted to know things like Chassis Numbers and model Numbers etc, I suspect he was just being a PITA. Didnt wanna wind him up by tellin him that mine was still in a container, somewhere in the pacific.....

I have a geezer trying to sell me a set od Aisins at £150 boxed "with warranty". Apparently it is meant for a KZN130...I assume this fits my 2nd Gen?

Just wanna know if its worth getting.......THe VMMs are about £100 per set, no?

      Regards
      Udhi

I didn't get a price from Toyota, but my educated guess is that if the boxed set Aisin's are the correct ones, snap em up!! Kzn130w is 2nd gen 3.0td!
The AVM's are indeed just over £100 from Milners, but for long term reliabilty aisins must be worth the extra £50 IMHO!
Knowing toyota the new ones must be well in xs of these figures but if u want to check it out, you need 26 spline hubs from late hi lux pick ups (not sure if the uk spec has them still)

You need then from a 98-on (IFS) pickup. 'Runners and Surfs never had them (apart from Sumo's ) so the Toyota parts guy will just give you blank looks. The late trucks I've seen have them.

Aisins are bombproof, others makes are probably OK, fine for the wheelin' we do in the UK. But Yanks who run locked diffs and double T/cases can break them quite easily
