Just did the six-monthly change of fuel filter, oilfilter, oil and for my first time ever- checked the valve clearances. Some of the clearances were too big and now that tacker-tacker-tacker-tacker noise is gone-yippee! Incidentally, adjusting the tappets was easy (old 2LT engine)- it`s all the hoses and other gobble you need to remove first to get the rocker cover off that takes time..
Tomorrow it`s drain and check diff oil (to make sure there is no water in as on my previous 4x4 trips in winter I had no breathers fitted). Fit breathers (just the hose and jubilee clip method) and grease props. Oh, and check my spare wheel can be removed.
This is all in time for Weardale trip next weekend.
