Technical - mechanical Tyres

I;ve got a set of 18" alloys to go onto my wide bodied 1993 Toyota Surf. Can these be successfully fitted or are they too big. If they can be fitted what size tyres would be need and what are the advantages and disadvantages,

whatever about the rim size I believe the tyre size is 31' max and anything bigger needs some kind of lift

Yeah Jim's right bigger than 31" and you gonna need a lift, rim size won't affect the tyre size.
