  • Tyre Sizes

I want a new set of tyres for my '94 SSR-X, 3.0TD and had wondered about a set of BF Goodrich All Terrains or Long Trails. I have standard size alloy wheels, 15"x7"JJ and my existing tyres are Dunlop Grandtrek 265/70R15. Looking at the BF Goodrich website, the A/Ts don't seem to come in this size. What is the imperial size equivalent of a 265/70R15, as there appears to be a few imperial sizes quoted on that website, for a 15" wheel.

          Hi Martyn.

I saw these, dunno what they would look like as they are an odd size, but the rims are 15".
I've had a mare of a job getting BFG's and a good price for mine, but I've got the standard 16" rims on my 3rd Gen, but at last I'm getting them Friday. Hope you have better luck mate.

Phone a few tyre dealers, a good tyre place will know what your on about and they do come in both sizes

Standard tyre size is 265/70/15. This equates to a 29.6 x 10.3 x 5 imperial size. Nearest equivilent is 30 x 9.5 x 15. If you go for the 31 x 10.5 x 15 the diameter is 1 inch bigger and will put your speedo out however it should actually put it back more to normal if you have one of the later electronic speedos. Mine reads about 10% fast (i.e. 40mph indicated is actually about 36mph) and with 31s on it would just about be spot on.

Surfs were fitted optionally from the factory with 31 x 10.5 x 15 on the wide body 2nd gens but standard size is as you got.

Also go for the BFG M/T, they are just as good on road and much better off road and they aren't to noiser either.

                Cheers
