  • Which tail lights??

Does anyone know if the KZN130 share the same tail lights as another toyota model? I'm looking to replace mine but just don't seem to be able to get what I want that's "E" approved. I heard from someone (who tends to talk sh**e most of the time), that the hiace has the same tail lights!? It would make sense to me if the surfs shared taights with the Hi-Lux?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the reverse light is in the surf ones isn't it? and there's nothing wrong with those lights, they do what they're made to do, they just have an outdated look to them and I would prefer something which in my opinion is a bit smarter looking, the b***ocks in fact! cos it's just the way I am. So are you saying the Hi-ace lights fit the surf?

The surf with the rear carrier has the reverse light built into the rear lights, the underslung surf has the reversing lights either side of the number plate.

O.K. I understand what you're after now, some cool lookin' rear lights with reverse lights in them that are 'E' marked and are different from the factory fitments.
              Good luck!!

The Hi-ace lights will have the reverse lights in them as they don't have spare wheel bolted to the rear.
Some surfs have the spare wheel underneath and the reverse lights in the middle of the tailgate.
I tried 'Googling' 1994 Toyota hi-ace, but couldn't find any close-up pics of the rear lights, so can't be sure if they're the same as the Surfs.

                  Silly question time !!!!!

Anyone got the EPC, perhaps the part numbers for the Hi-Ace and the surf could be cross matched.

Or perhaps someone's got a pet Toyota Partsperson who could confirm or deny for us - must admit I would be tempted by a set of the Hi-Ace lights

                      Some alternatives here....

I doubt you'll find 'E' approved aftermarket lights, especially for a Surf, nobody checks for them anyway.

Hi-ace lights look to long and narrow to fit a Surf.

Nah, pickup lights don't fit Surfs, they are screwed on from the outside through the lens, Surfs bolt on from the side.
