  • Missing Coil Springs???

Hi guys whilst giving the Hilux a wash today I noticed under the wheelarches there to be a distinct lack of suspension springs. I am not a total novice when it comes to cars I can see an upper and lower wishbone, a driveshaft and an adjustable shock absorber but I cannot see any form of spring on the front end. Could someone explain the front suspension for me please?

the front end is done on torsion bars which run near the sills each side from the front seats roughly

Many thanks Stormforce, there was no problem with my suspension but I was very puzzled. I think know the bars you mean, the two long bars running front to rear and about 1" diameter.I dont know if its worked but you should see my Surf over at Stithians reservoir this afternoon. This thread is not nearly as much fun as it could have been.
This was a perfect opportunity for a king-size wind up.

" Wot !!! you got no coils in there????????????????, take it back to the dealer and demand a refund "

" Hmmmmmmmmmm, no coils !!! That wont be safe to drive !!! "

oh well maybe we'll get the next one who comes along
