Rear Window

Another Problem on my 1991 2.4td surf
How do i get to behind the tailgate and to the connector behind the key, mine has been pulled off by my rear window and is now stuck shut
I managed to retrieve the connector but it is smashed and i need a new one, but i need to get to it anyway.
I have a rear carrier and i removed the bracket on rear tailgate but couldnt see how i could get behind the plastic oval.......god i realise how little sense i make but im sure someone here understands.
I am sick of putting kids ppushchair in over kids heads and child seats and need the rear window to work again ahhhhhhhhhhh

Doesn't it work on the switch inside the car??


On the inside egde of the tailgate, pull off the carpeted panel, undo the 6 or so screws and you should be able to get at the mechanism, from inside the 'boot'.

You need to crawl into the back, pull off the carpeted board on the tail gate, then you'll need a phillips screwdriver to remove the metal cover to get to the insides of the tailgate.
