Do you know what trucks they are off? Non EFI Surfs will be different, so there is two sorts at least.

            Hi
I had fault code 12 (timer control valve)
so had my tank drained and lines cleaned and changed my filter i could of got the control valve
but i thought i would be a safer bet just to change the pump

                Hi Koi

You can rev it all day and its fine but as soon as its under load it misses as if the pump timing is out then it cuts out it will restart but takes around 10 seconds. I guess the timing belt as all been set right as the mecanic is a ex toyota macanic.

                Cheers

would check the timing again to be sure before you start looking at other things. Although the timing may have been put right it jump a tooth, should know when I changed my belt it took three goes and still jumped one tooth out. Had to set it back a tooth then put the belt on and then it went on fine.

                    Hi Koi

The mechanic said he's rechecked the timing but it's was still the same I think were going to try putting the old pump back on but put the timing control valve of the other pump on, but he’s now closed till 3 Jan so anymore bright
                    Ideas very much appreciated.

                    Cheers

The original numbers you quoted are the pump numbers but differ in year although they are all for 2LT/E.

                      22100-5B300 (A) 2LTE..LN130 8/90 to 11/90
                      22100-5B301 (B) 2LTE..LN130 11/90 to 06/92
                      22100-5B302 (C) 2LTE..LN130 06/92 to --/--

I think you need the denso number off the pumps this tells you the build, think the number should be something like 6 digits-4 digits Also should be a number like VE4-9 or VE4-10 if I remember correctly this one relates to the plunger size in the pump (the 9 or 10) and effects the fuel output.

                          Hi
The numbers were both ve10 so the mechanic is putting the old pump back on but putting the valve off the other pump in he'l have it back together in the morning and i just know it will be the same, that just my look .
will let you all know tomorrow.

                          cheers for all your help

                            Hi
After another pump was fitted the mechanic said it was OK so I picked the car up on Friday and parted with another £290 (£720 in total plus I got the pumps) got home only 2 miles OK, Friday night go's shopping same thing running like a bag of S**t.
So a friend who iv known only a short time and just found out is a diesel engineer had a look today and fixed it in about 2 hours all he did was bypass the primer pump and put in a in line filter and WOW it’s fixed.

                            Now i have two Questions
1 Do’s anyone have a primer pump or knows how much they are from Toyota.
2 Do you think i should get some of my money back from the mechanic as im going to see him tomorrow

                            Cheers Steve

i would want some of the cash back.you've paid for the job to be done and it isn't,so if they refuse to give you a part refund then threaten him with trading standards and see if he changes his mind
