    i've just had a go of servicing my 3.0L auto third gen 96 surf (this is all new to me) i had help to change the cam belt, oil and filter and fuel filter but i thought i'd grease joints and check diff levels myself, greased every nipple ok i topped up the rear diff ok then i got confused, the prop comes from the rear diff/axle but whats the metal lump that it joins on to?? how do i top this up and what with??? and how do i get at the front diff as you can see im a bit of a plank when it comes to mechanics but im trying

    It joins to the Tranfer Case, there should be a level plug half way up the back casing, and a drain plug underneath.

    If you drop the bash plates of the front, you should see the front diff drain plug and level plug.

      Thanks very much Tony. I can see the two plugs you mentioned, what oil do i put in, is it the same as i put in the diff? thanks again.
