  • Jerking???? HELLLLPP!!

Hello all! my 96 4runner 3.0 has developed a jerking, very similar to an engine misfire except the engine is running fine i think the problem may be in the transmission / rear axle?

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Im sure this car was used for the topgear programme but failed so they bought a bigger wreck with all the faults fixed!!!!

auto or manual? it may be missing under load, if its a auto, put it in drive and hold the brakes on and rev it to load the motor and so if it does it.

You and talking about UJ's rings a bell? or is my memery going, if these are really knackered it could be them.

you need to get someone to watch the prop shaft or rear axle as you go along, see if it jumps around.

      Hi all

UK 4Runners have a limited slip diff in the back axle and if the oil has never been changed and if it now looks like tar (or there is no oil in it) it might make it nip up especially on tight corners like in car parks.

      Just a thought
