Not a surf Q? but could be related to tyres sizes?

Hi I have a rover 216 as a run around (wife has now commandeered Surf full time apart from hols!) and am aquiring a vauxhall astra. The rover has 185 tyres on it and the vauxhall has 175 tyres on it can I swop the wheels over or can I only swop the tyres over. Answers to my PC pleese!

if they're the same stud pattern, offset etc.

i know that audi, volkwagen and renault wheels will fit a vauxhall.

I dont think the stud pattern is the same Rover /Vauxhall.
Had Bmw four studs on an old vauxhall..........
