Still smoking

About 2 weeks ago I did the EGR mod (pull off hose, bend over and cable tie, ooer, sounds a bit rude )
Anyway, I've noticed that despite that the old gal is still chucking out smoke under load. No real improvement at all.
Passed the MOT last Thursday and emmissions were ok (best reading was about 1.3)
Does anyone know what this could mean? Any ideas gratefully received.

have you tried a bit of redex?

I use redex advanced every 3 months (last one about a month ago)

Possibly your injectors are getting past their best, however even with new injectors it will still smoke a bit under hard acceleration, all diesels do no matter how new.

and the possibility that your EGR was knackered in the first place.

Thanks for the thoughts chaps. I shall keep an eye on it, but I wont worry too much. The truck goes well which is the main thing

Have you concidered you may just have a heavy right boot -seriously it is a lot of motor to get mooving
also think about your injectors I had mine reconned by lucas (or whatever they call themselves now) for about £80 +vat - made a difference!

I suppose it might be a little on the heavy side sometimes
