General Help Needed!

I need help with my 2.4 surf........

1. The air con has a hissing/ high pitch noise when I turn it on which sounds as if its coming from the back of the glove box? The noise comes on and off as you drive (off when slowing to halt, on when accelerating) I have checked under the bonnet and I would say its louder inside the car? Plus it isn't that cold when running!

2. The internal heater/ fan control switches don't seem to work? When selecting position I only get the flow to my feet or face and I can't seem to get the demister working? Lights seem to work though?

3. The previous owner was a bit of a prat and tried to remove/ refit the radio without removing the dash first so the housing is badly damaged. Is there anyone out there with a spare housing and possible original radio for sale? The dash colour is blue and black.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Not sure about the air cion tho, as I've ripped mine out, but sounds like a loose connection on the pipes.

Thanks!! I have looked under the foot well and you right the white bars are struggling to move? not sure what the problem is though as it could be the motor or just the fact there is to much resistance?

I still need help with the other problems????

I just sprayed mine all over with spray grease while wiggling them about a bit. It's improved things but still not 100% probably a weak motor trying to push all those levers.

p.s. Have you tried putting an ad in the parts wanted section for the lower dash/radio housing?

There is a small air con rad(bit like a heater matrix) just behind the glove box may be it has a small hole in it???

I read some where that there is a clear inspection plate to see if there is flow in the air con is this true if so where?????

Open the bonnet, and look down by the passenger side headlight, between the grille and the radiator there is a canister with a sight glass in the top.

You need a vacuum test for leaks really. But my dads LandCruiser makes this noise too and its not been gassed for a couple of years and its ice cold still.

I found it! and I can see movement ??? abit like an aerosol spray??

Is there a good air con man / garage local to me near Stourbridge, Westmidlands? (bridgnorth?)

Air con man is coming tonight to sort it out !

Air Medic? any one heard of him? From the stourbridge area.

But i still need to get my hands on a replacment lower dash/ radio suround....

Just vaced and re filled with R 24, the noise has gone to?

STILL NEED HELP WITH THE DASH PARTS THOUGH!!!!!!!!!
