ok, i know the whole underseal, waxoyl and prevention issues have been covered before, but i'm kinda looking to close the stable door after the horse has bolted on this one.
i have a 94 surf, which has now been in the uk for two years. on purchasing the beast, as with most, the underbody was in showroom condition. however, increasingly the chassis is taking on that seaside iron hue. the worse affected, is by far, the rear axle, followed by the front wishbones and a smattering of amber along the box section welds etc.
i had considered this..wire brush, chassis black aerosol hammerite followed by a liberal dosing of waxoyl as a diy job. however, i'm now considering having the job done professionally, hopefully localish to norfolk..how long a job is it, approx cost including ridding the chassis of existing corrosion and do any of you guys know where i can get a thorough job done in the region? any help on this matter will be well appreciated, another autumn is looming, i don't want to bull myself into thinking i'll leave it till spring, again! cheers.
