  • Rattle in hub

When I'm in 2wd on a bumpy road i hear a rattle/rumble sound from the driver side front wheel. When I engage 4wd it goes quiet. :-? Anybody got a idea/experience what to look for? or perhaps it is normal, don't believe in fixing thing if they aren't broke.
    regards

Look for either a wheel bearing (often don't make a noise when under load - i.e. in 4WD) or output bearing from the diff.

    Cheers

Have you re-packed the front CV joints, if they are worn and dry they could be rattling.

(can't remember if we tried this before)
