Ok boys and girls, in about a month i am going to take the plunge, got permission from the boss, the main thing is i want my start up/aux diesel tank undermounted am i better trying to get a tank made go down the breakers or what? only want 20-30 ltrs.also i am going to try and get a http://www.frybrid.com/test.htm heat exchanger, i`ll keep you informed as to how i get on.

When I converted my golf I got a custom made tank from rally design for veg oil - cost around £100 to get it made from aluminium to the shape I wanted.

A hundred notes for a custom made tank seems really reasonable if it's a descent size. Cost me about £70 for a box standard 69L tank.

Did the £100 cover the mounting straps and brackets etc?

Also what about fuel filler pipe and cap etc?
