whistling query

hi all. ive read a few threads on here saying that if your turbo whistles its one of the better ones. is this true. mine whistles, not worryingly, in fact she sounds sweet but was wondering if there realy are different turbo`s fitted to 93 ssrx 2.4 auto`s. thanks in advance peeps

I think they all whistle ,its down to where they are mounted on the engine whether you hear them or not. The 2.4 is near the top so you can hear it ,but the 3.0 is at the bottom and i cant hear mine.

turbo technics web site says turbos whistle if they leak or are off balance, mine whistled real nice till all the oil escaped, then it squeaked. now it rumbles. mine is no longer a good one. natch.

open the picture with paint, on attributes is stretch/skew.. try 25% and then try adding it to a post

Did we get to the bottom of the turbo question?

Mines a 3.0 and I can hear it whistle. But I can hear the turbo whistle on just about every turbo diesel Ive ever driven. I dont think its a bad thing-is it?
