my surf auto has suddenly developed severe vibration at anything above 25mph in neutral it dissappears could it be the prop shaft ive been under and cant see any problem would you have to take the prop off to examine as some one said that you cant feel any damage while its still on any advice would be appreciated as im a bit concerned its the torque converter or gearbox thanks Dennis

You can normally hold either end of the UJ and twist it to feel for loose UJ's. If its got water in it and gone rusty you may need to remove it and make sure the UJ's turn smoothly.
Have you checked the autobox oil?
Does it vibe in all gears? Put the t/case in neutral, and the gearbox in drive and try it to see how the gearbox is.
If you suspect the rear shaft, take it out, and run the car in 4wd (so your in front wheel drive only) and try it again.4x4toys.co.uk - Keeping you on and off the road...

ive taken off the rear prop shaft and found one journal bearing failed local company is fitting two new uj s
