1995 3.0TD Surf Rear Tailgate

Have had ongoing problems with the rear tailgate and electric rear window. Replaced motor and switch (the one beside the gear shift) and window went up but won't go down again.
Does anyone know if there is a fix or a conversion to change the entire rear tailgate/glass to manual operation?

Probably best to replace the relays which are behind left corner panel on second generation and I think the same for yours. These relays are really cheap and easy to source.
