Servicing LSD Diff

My 3rd gen surf has an LSD differential, but due to age, it now basically acts as an open diff. I heard that this is a common problem with the "clutch pack" wearing out and needing service and adjustment. Has anyone done this and can comment on what's involved?

There are a few you tube videos on the subject. All ive ever done with mine is change the oil and im sure you know this but you need special lsd diff oil.
