2.4td 1991 ln130 turbo smoke

i have noticed a big puff of smoke when i pull away on my car also it is flat out at about 80 mph revs @3750 rpm sounds like its really going some 70 mph at @3250 seems to sit there ok is this normal or have i a problem it seems to pull ok accelerates fine drives great any advice appreciated

The most I've ever got from mine was 95. She will happily sit at 80 at somewhere in the region of 3500rpm. I'm running 31inch tyres which may alter the gearing, or alternatively I beleive there is something in the auto clutch called a torque lock up or similar, I think there is a thread on this site about it somewhere. Basically as I read it, it is a thingy that stops the clutch spinning at speed causing all the engine power to go to the transmission (I think).

Oh forgot the smoke is normal all diesels do it. In fact with the current low temperatures my mothers van is producing a smoke screen on start up!!

sounds like mine mate
Smoke is normal too. Mine is similar revs and Im on 31"s.
