  • Front bumper/bullbars

    Just spotted this...

    It might work for someone...

    http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-s...r_toyota.shtml

Looks quite good, with or without the bar....

In fact, I like that a lot....
Anyone know if there is a WARN main dealer/distributor here in the UK...?

I know that there has been a lot of winging about ARB's on the Aus site, fit, quality of build etc...

Has anyone seen these in the flesh...? or any of their Jeep bumpers...

Can anyone vouch for the quality of build...?

Just if it has come from the states, it has less distance to travel... and conseequently might be cheaper.

Just got this back from Warn...

Thank you for visiting the Warn web page.

The Toyota Bumper p/n 68450 has been introduced on our web page, but we
will not be shipping these until mid to late March. The installation
instruction file is too large to e-mail. Send me your complete mailing
address and I can send a copy in the mail.

Our distributor in the UK is Arbil LTD, I suggest that you contact Bill Hudd for pricing.
(these guys also do Hi-Lift and Safari Snorkel incidentaly)

In a best case scenario, if they order a bumper now and it ships in late
March, it would arrive in the UK about the end of April because of
          transit time.

I have left a message for Bill and awaiting a response...

Some more information. For those of you that have studied the image... you will have noticed that it has been lifted.

Its a Procomp/Trailmaster 4" kit, running BFG 33/12.50 R15's on "fake" Beadlocks... That was the obvious bit.

Not so obvious bit, if you look at the rear of the truck, the rear bumper has a very similar profile to the front bumper... And pickups having a very similar rear end (tailgate) to Surf's...

This is also a new product for Warn and the part number is... 68490, no images yet... but they are imminent on the website.

Finally found out some more information...

If you check out the image... this is how this bumper mounts to the vehicle.. it mounts by the looks of things direct to the frame rails and nowhere else...

Now, my question... doesn't it look just like the front end of a 2nd Gen Surf...?
                Bolt holes and all?

From memory, there is a threaded hole as the last hole each side on the front face of the frame crossmember. There is also a pair of threaded hole on the lower face of the frame rails (where the hooks mount). There is also a couple of holes where the original "A" bar mounts...

                So would it fit...?

                Comments...? ideas...?

Nice looking bar. I don't know how many UK surfers install bodylifts, but it might be worth asking if they can be made to bodylifts

As for ARB bars, there is nothing wrong with the build quality or finish. Its just that there can be a long lead time (here in OZ anyway), as ARB make them in batch runs, and I think require 5 or so placed orders to make a run. They spend most time making Patrol or Landcruiser bars, to meet demand.

Note that neither ARB or TJM make bars to house a Warn 8274 Hi-Mount winch. I'm in the process of fabricated my own cradle and bar to suit.....
