For what it's worth you might get a tailor made stainless steel system fitted for under £400. My exhaust is in holes so I have been toying with the idea of a custom exhaust- especially since I want to re-route the tailpipe out past the mud flap (twill stop me knocking the exhaust off its mounts when I go offroading!).

    start here:

    http://www.powerflow.uk.com/

But there are other stainless steel exhaust companies. Anyone know how £400 compare with your typical 'Qwik Fit' replacement?

mine blows too but diesels hide the noise well and tend to clog up most holes... I eventually will go for a custom one - im trying for a single 3 inch either side behind the mudflaps It will look like a dragster blowing black smoke from both sides!
I have a Powerflow near me but LifeLong are ok apparently too.

I replaced the whole lot on mine last August. By all means, go for a custom/stainless/performance system. I just needed a replacement cos mine was like a sieve.

          http://www.yotasurf.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=7359

Kwik Fit & Fast Fit in Ireland couldn't help me (I brought the Surf in to see if a Hilux system would work), so I got Milner's and tackled it myself - wasn't that difficult.

          Good luck,

Buy it now price of £275 for the 2.4 system in his other items!? That's great.

But why no flexi section in the downpipe?
And why a mild steel flange on a stainless system?

Still, that's cheaper than Milner's system...

Might be worth getting that one and fitting it yourself Tom63? Stainless, free flow... hmm... You could always trim the end if it was causing problems off road, or cut/weld the end back on at a different tidier angle?

                    .
I am keen to hear how you go with this set-up as I too am looking at going for a "Jaguar" style pipe out each corner in 2-1/2" or 3".
Post pics as soon as, coz I rekon it will look the part.

                        almost mate
I want mine one behind each mudflap.... just got this email back

                        Hi Tim ,

                        Thanks for your enquiry.

A custom build stainless exhaust system for your Hilux would run from the base of the existing downpipe through to the rear of the car, and can be built in 2.5" bore, with a tailpipe to each side at the rear, in a side exit configuration. We would reduce the bore size at the back where the system splits, and can incorporate a 3" tailpipe to each side. The system would include a new flex-pipe at the front.

The system is guaranteed for as long as you own the car, and this is a fully transferrable warranty. It's also a "No Hassle" warranty - we believe it is the very the best warranty in the industry.

If you are interested in technical specifications, the whole system is built in 304 grade stainless steel throughout, and assembled using high frequency TIG welding. All of our systems are built using freeflow technology, so your engine will breathe better than with conventional systems. This usually gives a noticeable improvement in the torque from your engine - particularly at lower revs. We have numerous testimonials from customers who have experienced both improved engine performance and fuel economy.

Fitting is by appointment - we usually require a vehicle like yours for around 4.5 hours while we custom build and fit the specified system. If it makes life easier, we may be able to make a courtesy car available while yours is with us. There is no charge for a courtesy car, but there is an age restriction. Alternatively, we are a few minutes walk from Carshalton Beeches station, from where a train will take you to London Victoria in about 20 minutes.

To custom build and fit a Longlife system onto your vehicle, the price (inclusive of VAT) with the selected tailpipe option works out at £499.

I trust that this is of interest to you. If you want to book in, or require any further information, then please call either myself or Lisa French on 020 8669 8671.

We are based at 128 Stanley Park Road, Carshalton, Surrey, SM5 3JG.

                        Thanks for contacting us,
                        Regards,

                        Mal Elwood.
