  • Rear springs

I`m finally going to sort out the saggy arse on my Surf and fit some new rear springs, i know that this topic has had a thousand posts about it but i`d like to know what people think of the springs they used and which they think are the best.

I use the Surf mainly for towing the Stock Car around the country to meetings and we now have a new heavier tralier to use this season so it`s going to show up the saggy arse even more. Because it doesnt really go off road i`m not too fussed about the new springs lifting the car.
    Cheers

I changed all of my suspension, springs, shocks, and torsion bars. I must say I love the change, the handelling is brilliant. I haven't towed my trailer yet since the work was done, but expect that it will feel much firmer.

Hi, at least 50% of my miles is towing - I have the 20% strong springs from Milners also (already fitted on the car). Very pleased with them so far!

Thanks for the results so far, the Milner`s ones are looking the favourite. Anyone tried anything else so that i can make a comparson?
          Cheers

Mine didn;t come from Milners but from LA Supatrux. However they look identical to the Milners ones, so I strongly believe that all the suppliers stock the same range.
I wait for someone to tell me I'm wrong?

Maverick, I think LA Supertrux & Roughtrax's springs are Explorer items. Milner and Explorer springs are both blue, so they do look the same.

Delboy changed from Milner 20% stiffer springs to +2" Explorer ones last year - he may be able to offer a comparison opinion?

I presume you got Explorer torsion bars, Maverick - how are they? I'm hoping to replace mine and all 4 dampers this year. I put Milner springs on a couple of weeks ago, and they're definitely better that the sagging OEs.

Depends what you are buying. Milners are 20% stronger, but standard length (they told us that they are not interested in getting into the lift market). The LASupertrux ones that I have are +2" and heavy duty (thats the 20% stronger).

I'd buy the same again - had them on for about 18months now.

Mine is the LA Supatrux 2" lift jobies. I also got the higher rated nitrogen shocks, with the uprated tosion bars. I love the way the car handles now. The ride can be a bit hard (it's harder than the hard setting I used to have), but the best bit is when I take a bump the car deals with the bump there and then, not still dealing with it 1/4 mile down the road.
