  • starter motor

    question where is it and how easy is it to change?and also could it be sticking because of being under pressure as my glow plugs have gone?

    you should find loads of threads about starter motor removal and repair, its easy once you find it and make sure you have some long extensions for your socket set as it helps:
    If its just having problems turning over. i.e. sometimes it just clicks then the best thing to do is just replace the copper contact thing, cost me about 5 quid from toyota and sooooo easy to do once i got the motor off:

        thanks every one i will check out the threads ,ive worked previousley petrol cars but have never done anything to a deisel let alone a 4x4 ,i thought a starter motor was pretty straight forward but my husband said its different to a normal one?will have a look at the threads you have left for me cheers
