  • handbrake adjusting?

    Hi guys
Can anyone point me in the right direction here, I need to adjust my handbrake for the up & coming MOT.
at the moment it doesnt hold the vehicle at all when pulled fully on.
Im guessing its adjusted via the peephole in the brake backplate, but cant see that being the easiest way to do it as i cant get my head back there to see what im doing.
    Any ideas most welcome.
    Cheers

One way they say is to reverse backwards quickly and pull the handbrake to stop, then repeat a number of times and you should notice an improvement.

I tried it, think it did good.

It should be self adjusting, if its loose, you'll here a click for every pull of the hand brake till the shoes are in the right place, chances are it needs cleaning out and resetting.

After the brakes are set, check the handbrake pull distance.

Look to be getting about 12 or 13 clicks on the handbrake, the cables may be stretched.
