You now have me worried, the light is a small rectanle in the middle of the speedo, and there is a small picture of a turbo above it, if it is not the turbo but a fault detected by the ecu what could the fault be ? it is not on all of the time,

Sounds like it could be a turbo light, however are you sure that the picture is not a small picture of an engine making it an engine check lamp. I think I'm right that all the 3 litres even 4 runners didn't have a Turbo light (which is green by the way on the 2.4) however someone may put me right on it.

I'm not that technical but I think it is something to do with
larger bores on the water jacket or simular.
Helping the water to cool the block more effectively?
I may be completely wrong that is,it has been known before!

But it seems once the new type of head is replaced it cures
the problem?
I see yours was a 3.0 lt I hope they are now all starting to go
as well as I was thinking of upgraging

Correct, no turbo light on the 3.0 even on my runner theres no turbo light, just the engine check light which is red.
