Had my surf ('95 3.0l) a few days now & starting to do a few bits & pieces on it - nothing major, just getting to know it. A few questions someone may be able to help with...
1. Had the drivers footwell trim off - where the fuses are - trying to disconnect that irritating alarm that comes on when you have the key in with the door open. Found lots of relays etc & the noise is coming from that area, but couldn't locate it.
2. Done the grease points & lockstops. One of the threads shows a pic of the location of the points, which includes a blanking plug on the top & bottom susp. swivel joints. Couldn't find them. Look like sealed units to me. Is this right on this model?
3. There's lots of talk on rear end sag. Looking at mine, the side steps are parallel to the road. Is this about right or should it's a**s stick up at the rear a bit? Gap from the wheel centre to wheelarch is 20". Tyres 31x10.50. This one has adjustable comp. shocks fitted & I will be dragging a horse box around, so if I change the springs which ones are best - just uprated ones or should I go for 2" lift? May do torsion bars as well, but if I went for a 2" lift F & R will it look daft with these tyres?
Incidentally, I have 4 almost new (about 20,000miles) standard shocks if anyone wants them.
Sorry this is so long!!
