  • fuse box/glowplug relay

power going as far as glow plug relay, then for some reason nothing at buzzbar, very recent, all connected right,is there a fuse for this relay and where is it.once i get this sorted im going off roading.

The control for the relay is via the ignition and is fed from one of the main fuses under the bonnet in the fuse box near the relay.

The switched supply to the glow plugs is from a separate fuse that is also under the bonnet.

      Just had this problem myself.

If you have power to the relay, but not to the bus bar, try testing the output it's self on the relay.

If both terminals are live, then the fuse is ok and the power will go to the bus bar.

Check the clamp down where the busbar joins on the head.

I found that when my plugs had been changed, the fitter put the connections back with a insulating spacer between the busbar and the live feed from the relay. hence they didn't make contact and the glow plugs wouldn't energise.

Seems like a head ache, but simple once you have done it once!

      any problems, just e-mail.
