  • Rear fog light

Does anyone have any advice, have just reversed and smashed the hell out of my post import fog lamp (mounted under my rear bumper). Its not the price that annoys me, they only cost a fiver, its just in a really crappy place. Anyone know of a better place to mount one without too much fancy stuff. Cheers all.

I bought the same one. It is currently looking very nice on my kitchen table!

Must get round to doing it, mumble, mumble.

I converted one of my reverse lights to a fog light:
          http://www.showmesome.info/hilux/workshop/foglight.htm

HOWEVER - the "painting the bulb" thing did not last - went all orange after a while and failed the MOT

If you have reverse lights with capped bulbs I think you can easily get replacement red bulbs or red LED bulb replacement from:
          www.ultraleds.com

If you have the capless (wedge) bulbs like me then they are more difficult to find - I have just bought one of these bulbs:
          http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=582
but I am not sure it will be bright enough, but only just got it today so not tried it yet.

Tried the idea of rewiring a reverse light and colouring the lens red, however the MOT man said it wasn't legal as a fog light because it is not close enought to the edge of the vehicle, back to having one under the bumper to pass the test but it won't last long down there.

That reminds me - update on that capless LED bulb idea from my last post - it is no where near bright enough - absolutely useless! Oh well, back to the drawing board....

think ill be getting one of those ones off ebay to replace my recently smashed one.
on the subject of that mot thing. i am not sure they need to be near the edge. looking at new mini's, 206's etc. they are all in the middle of the rear bumper.

Mine passed it's ticket a month or so ago and my fog light is in the light cluster, plus my old 205 pug fog light is know where near the edge of the car compared to my truck and thats a factory one.
Are you sure you hadn't p$"!^d the inspector of or somit,or more than likely he was just green with envy cos you had a better motor than him
