Main beam warning light not working

The little blue light on the dash to let you know the main beam is on hasn't worked on my Surf for quite a while now. When it was MOT'd my mate (who did the MOT) told me to get it fixed as it's supposed to be working to get a pass.

So I've got the dash out, checked the bulb, and it's fine. I've taken the dash out, and supplied 12v to the appropriate connector points and the bulb lights up. So I guess I have a fault in the harness somewhere which sounds like fun.

Anyone able to offer some advice on this?

Main beam light!

Easiest way is to find the wire that shows live when the main beam is switched on and splice a wire from that to the feed to the blue telltale.
