  • rpm signal for tacho

A 2lte from a 2001 ln165 has been fitted to my surf by a mate, wiring was totally different.he eventually got the diagrams/pinouts he needed and got it upa nd running and got most of the wires connected like for like.he connected what he thought was the correct wire to mate to the tacho wire but upon starting the rpm was reading way higher than it should.where is the take off on these engines,or is there one?some forums say the engine side of the injector pump, others say the alternator

no, all 2lte has the sender as the ecu uses the signal. the ecu then sends signal to tacho. only difference between tacho or no tacho is the instrument cluster.

btw what was your old engine?
