  • Gen3 audio install

The aftermarket audio that came with the car has packed in and needs replaced. It wasn't installed properly, just laid in the hole so to speak.

So I have an aperture which is standard width and about 147mm deep. I see Halfords are selling double din pioneer units for £100, and these are 100mm deep.

So what to people do to fill in the other 40mm or so, one the trim is taken into account?

Any advice on mounting brackets also appreciated.

The 3rd gen has a triple din hole, you can a double din radio and a single din cubby hole thing, or indeed a single din radio and a double din cubby, halfords or ebay

If the existing radio was just shoved in you might need brackets

The brackets will join the radio and cubby together and then secure the lot in the hole.
