Rear window works on interior switch but not with key

The rear tailgate window goes up and down fine with interior rocker switch but nothing happens at all from the external key switch on tailgate itself. Had a quick look inside with panel off hoping for a loose or snapped wire but all looks ok. Any suggestions please?

You need to check the end plate of the key barrel to see if it is worn out .
