Whereabouts is the fuse for the courtesy light over the rear seats,I know it isn't one of the ones in the driver's footwell.

There's one in the fusebox in the engine compartment. (Dome fuse)

Also, if that checks out and the bulb too, and it still doesn't work, pull it and check the riveted connections inside, they do sh1t the bed... re-pound and/or solder, carefully so as not to muss the plastic. BTDT.

I found my light was the same but it would not take to the soldering iron. In the end I "pounded" it and it now works ok.

That's right, I remember now that you mention it... solder wouldn't stick.
