  • the surf gave me a gift (in brainteaser form)

after a quick drive to town this morning I went to start, put my foot on the brake and heard the park lock engaging and disengaging at the same speed as indicators, I turned on an indicator and all indicators went, this confused me , I drove home anyway and when I used the brake the indicators came on without flashing and when I used the indicators the overdrive turned off and on at indicator flashing speed, and at that point I decided to check the lights and it was not a surprise to see all indicators stay on with no flashing.....the complexity of the brain teaser gave me a laugh and had me thinking all the way home. I got home and checked all I could and decided to give a gift back, a trip to the Auto sparky.

I will post back to report what the fault was

I'd put money on the fault being a flat tyre. Not much, but I'd put money on it.

I have five days to fid it before the auto sparky pros have time to look at it. dash has been off all relays and switches changed from my emergency parts bin. the more time I spend on it the more beer I drink , the more beer I drink the more insane my theories are.

My serious thoughts now. Would a broken earth cause those issues? Either that or you have mice.

its nine thirty at night new zealand time and after putting the dash back together and doing another check of wires i discovered the wires going to the trailer plug have been chewed and are stripped and are twisted together and earthing on the bumper. two lessons learnt over two days, keep checking the simple things first and never tie your dog to the rocksliders and leave it unattended. what a dummy
