  • Surf Wiring Diagrams 3rd Gen

Hi Folks, just getting ready to do the wiring on my project (last big job) and I've found that I don't quite have the right information

I need pin outs for these two plugs, - they run between the 1KZ Engine loom and the truck's main loom.

Edit and this in the Lexus.

I have the links from above, but can't see a pinout for those plugs.. (being simple perhaps? )

Anyone got anything that can help??

    I've been googling for ages!

I have Surf 1KZ ECU pinouts
    VVTi 1IZ Pinouts

I've just had another session googling for hours... I can't believe that this info is so hard to come by!

Thats because you're trying to obtain the info for free.

Whats on the other end of those plugs i.e. where were they fitted in the truck?

To be fair I'd happily pay for them if I could find them, and be sure that I was getting the right thing!

Might buy a 2 day membership to TIS and hope the US lS400 ones are the same at least?

          On the Hilux plugs:

Small one all wires (4 ) went to the diagnostics port - so should be easy (and possibly not needed) the Larger one most went to the gearbox/transfer box (so they will mate up) and a remaining 7 go to the engine loom... - next step is to trace them and see where... I'm guessing its gauge related stuff, like oil pressure, fuel filter water light etc... won't take long to trace them.

On the Lexus plugs... not sure yet, will trace tomorrow.. also 26 pins, it is the plug that goes straight from the engine loom to the body loom, separate from the ECU related connections.

Work has been silly recently... 15+ hour days and nights away in grotty hotels (with no internet...).. I have Monday off so I hope to actually make some progress on my truck!

I have the top two Hilux ones sorted (easily traced back through the original loom - I should have done this instead of sweating it looking for a pin out for that large plug (called BG1 if anyone needs to know - you can see it on the wiring diagrams as a junction, once you know what it is called).

I still need to do the Lexus one...

I also made up a little loom of the "second" Lexus loom and am adding it into the main one for neatness.
                    That includes:

Air-con wiring (Lexus has three wires, not one... two go to the back so I assume this is the pressure sensor....or something ), Oil Pressure warning, Oil level warning... Just thinking about it I might run two spare wires should I choose to add a aftermarket oil pressure and temp gauge at a later date...

Also re jigged the air flow meter so it goes down the passenger side bank loom "branch" because I insisted that two batteries are "better"

Cheers folks, I *think* I have it all sorted now...

One mystery brown wire on the "non ECU connector" (second pic), but I think it is the sensor common earth that is being send back to the "vapour pressure sensor" in the fuel tank..

I assume the chunky Black/red from the coil packs goes to IGN+ like the one for the injectors does...

I just need to get my head around the three gearbox solenoids, and the "suprastick" now.
