ECU Refirbishment

Has anyone ever gone down the road of sending an ECU away to be refurbished/repaired?

Im thinking of sending my Auto Trans ECU away to be refurbished, as it seems to be the cheapest option, and also im struggling to find one from any breaker.

It's costly!

The engine/transmission is combined into the main ECU on the 3.0 2nd and 3rd gens, the transmission control is not seperate like it is on the 2.4.

I thought as much, but the cheapest price ive got so far is £250!
