  • Rev Counter

The rev counter on our Gen 3 has recently died after a period of intermittant working.
It could be a loose wire or connection but I suspect that it is linked with a sensor problem as during the intermittant period it was fine on dry days and didn't work on wet ones.
Does anyone know where it picks up the signal from and where the sensor is?
    Thanks,
    Mark

It picks up the signal from fuel pump's rpm sensor via the ECU.

Thanks. I will have a wiggle of wires in that area to see if the needle moves.

Can you tell me if you found a solution to this problem? I have the exact same fault...

Yes. We unplugged and reconnected wiring blocks in the fuel pump and ECU areas and the problem went away.
It has worked fine for the last 15 months even though we have been through bonnet deep water for a few seconds at various times during the winter.
Whether we re-made a dodgy connection or it just sorted itself out, I don't know!
