The glowplug light on the dash (3.0) does not come on. Is this likely to be just the bulb and if so is it easy to get to ? or could it be the relay ? it starts ok.

As no-one else has answered, I'll chip in. Yes, if the truck is starting OK in this cold weather, the plugs are working and it's probably just the bulb gone.

Many thanks, just wondered because same thing happened on my last hilux and a guy looked at it and said it was likely the relay - which didnt seem to make much sense at the time.
Does dash bulb replacement involve a full dash strip ?
I go to Malvern quite a lot and sometimes see a gen 3 exactly same as mine - dark blue (or is it purple?) with silver bumper/trim - is that you ? there can't be many gen 3's around here. thanks for replying.Comment

Not me. I don't have a truck at the mo, though have owned 2nd and 3rd gens in the past.

Strange thing happened with mine.
Noticed by light didn't work shortly before the alternator packed up.
Now I have changed the alternator it's started working again.
